Michael J. Sterling

Michael Sterling is the OSJ and Principal for Carolina Wealth Stewardship Group. Originally from Virginia Beach, Michael obtained his degree in Finance and Economics from Elon College. Starting with Banyan, Rock and Talent in 1992 as a Financial Broker, Michael became the firm’s Principal, President/CEO in May 2002. Since then Michael has successfully managed and grown Banyan through all economic conditions. Michael helped found Carolina Wealth in 2010 and is responsible for compliance and oversight responsibilities of the Group. Michael believes in the principles of integrity, openness and doing what is in the best interest of our client’s. Michael is a Registered Representative and obtained a general securities principal registration in 1994. When not at the office Michael, enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. Michael lives in Cary, NC with his wife Becky and their two children, JD, and Ella.
