Peter Nelson

Peter Nelson helps individuals, families, executives and business owners work toward their financial goals enhancing their quality of life today and throughout retirement. He specializes in financial planning, retirement income planning and investment management.  

Peter obtained his BS Business/Finance from the University of Vermont and also holds an Industrial Engineering degree from North Carolina State University. Peter is a Registered Representative with OSAIC, Inc. and a Registered Investment Advisor Representative with OSAIC Wealth Inc. He holds the Series 7, 66 and Life, Health & LTC Insurance Licenses. 

Peter resides in Hickory NC with his wife Ann and two active young adults, Holly and Nic. They are active at Corinth Reformed Church, the YMCA and other activities with friends.  Nic will begin graduate studies at St. Andrews in Scotland in the fall of 2026. Holly is actively pursuing a Social Worker degree at Lenoir Rhyne University.

Peter has a passion for community service and is very active in helping to improve the quality of life for all. He has served as Lake Hickory Rotary Club President and chair of The Leader In Me- Accelerating Good to Great 4 All Catawba County and was awarded Volunteer of the Year to the YMCA.  Currently he is active on the Board of Directors at Exodus Homes Outreach Ministry in Hickory NC.   

Additional time permitting, he enjoys outdoors activities including landscaping, hiking, sailing, water sports, and volleyball.
